Open Water Diver

Discovering a whole new world of amazing experiences begins here. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba diving course and has introduced millions of people to the adventures of diving.

The course includes home study and classroom sessions and a minimum of 10 hour's pool training to build confidence before completing the Open Water dives.the course can be taken over 6 to 8 weeks, one evening per week, followed by a weekend of Open Water training, or as a fas-track course over two weekends, the first being devoted to Knowledge Development and pool training and the second to Open Water training.

Once you have completed the course you will be able to dive with a buddy to maximum of 18 metres without the supervision of a diving professional.


  • Age 15 years or over (or 10 years or over for Junior Open Water Divers *)
  • A completed medical questionnaire
  • Ability to swim 200 metres and float or tread water for 10 minutes
  • To have completed all the pre-study or online study before the start of the course

  • All PADI course materials and registration fees
  • All pool training sessions ( minimum of 10 hours)
  • All pool practise sessions
  • Four Open Water qualifying dives (any dive site entry fees not included)
